Tickle Your Art is an innovative online marketplace and community hub designed to empower artists and connect art lovers with unique, handcrafted creations. It provides a vibrant space for artists to showcase their portfolios, sell their work, and engage with a global audience, while offering buyers a curated selection of original art across various mediums.

The Challenge

The art market, especially for independent artists, can be fragmented and difficult to navigate. The primary goal was to create an inclusive, user-friendly platform that would:

Empower Artists: Provide robust tools for artists to manage their profiles, upload high-quality images, set pricing, and handle inventory with ease.

Curated Discovery: Offer art buyers an intuitive browsing experience with advanced filtering and personalized recommendations.

Community Engagement: Foster interaction between artists and buyers, encouraging feedback, commissions, and shared passion for art.

My Role & Execution:

As the Full-Stack Developer / UI/UX Designer / E-commerce Specialist, I was instrumental in bringing the vision of Tickle Your Art to life.

My responsibilities included:

Artist Profile & Portfolio Management: I developed a flexible backend system and an intuitive frontend interface that allows artists to upload multiple images, add descriptions, specify dimensions, and manage their available inventory.

Dynamic E-commerce Integration: Implemented secure payment gateways like Stripe, PayPal and a seamless checkout flow. This included handling shipping calculations, tax considerations, and order tracking.

Advanced Search & Filtering: Built a robust search functionality with filters for medium, style, price range, and artist location, ensuring buyers could easily discover the art they love.

Interactive Community Features: Designed and implemented features such as artist “follow” functionality, direct messaging, and a review/rating system to foster a dynamic community.

Responsive & Visually Rich UI: Crafted a visually appealing and responsive design using frontend tech, e.g., React, Vue.js, or a specific CSS framework that highlights the artwork beautifully on any device.

Results & Impact:

Launch & Growth: Successfully launched the platform, attracting a diverse initial cohort of artists and art enthusiasts.
